This course is suitable for qualified First Aiders, Emergency First Aiders, dental practitioners and dental care professionals, nurses, healthcare professionals and others working in an environment where oxygen is available for casualty welfare
This training enables users to administer oxygen safely and effectively, for casualties with breathing difficulties. Delegates will learn how and when to administer oxygen to a casualty and the safety concerns with carrying, storing and administering it.
The course's awarding body is First Aid Awards (FAA). It is regulated by Ofqual and is SQA accredited. The qualification sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

A minimum of 6 hours. Candidates must be present for all the training hours without exception (some pre-learning may be required depending on prior experience).

This qualification lasts for 3 years. To renew the qualification, learners will need to retake the full course. However, it is recommended that during the 3-year period, the learners attend annual refresher courses.
Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day. This will be conducted by practical assessment, oral questioning and multiple choice. A three year Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Level 6 in Scotland) will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required.
A maximum of 12 candidates are allowed and must be a minimum of 16 years of age. A certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
